NOTE: 14:32-42 - Have you ever thought that even today as our great Heavenly High Priest after the order of Melchizedek - Jesus may be seeking our prayer-help just as He did in the Garden of Gethsemane? This came to me forcibly as I prepared this mailing. I have decided to spend more time in prayer fellowship with Him as He has taken on the burden of praying for all of the needs of the human race. The Holy Spirit in us can show us how to do this. Angels help in this also But surely there is a part we can play also in sharing in this burden. Our Utmost- for “His Highest”!

When we see His disappointment when three times his three close disciples let Him down - that should speak to us for today. Then too, as He pointed out to Peter - Peter himself needed to be in prayer with Jesus for the strengthening it would bring to him! Would Peter have denied Jesus three times if he had not slept through three prayer times? His human spirit failed to be strengthened to overcome the weakness of the flesh.

14:42-52 - The other Gospels bring out different aspects of this time. We need all four to receive a full and complete picture of what our Savior went through - and even then - no one will ever be able to appreciate and understand in fullness the awfulness for our Savior to become sinfor us - to take our placeso that we can inherit His divine heritage in the Holy Spirit! He knows we will never fully understand. But He did it anyway - out of both divine and human love. God help us to somehow appreciate more - and offer Him our personal, passionate devotion - as the least possible way of saying our Thank-you! God sent angels to strengthen Him in Gethsemane - because no human beings were able to understand or help.

14:44-45 - And Judas! Imagine arranging to betray the Son of :man and the Son of God with a kiss! In one of the other Gospels Jesus says to him - Friend - Do you betray the Son of :Man with a kiss? What perfidy! What baseness of human character. God help him. God have mercy on his soul. Better had it been for Judas not to be born! J.A.W.
